Sucked in

Funny? I couldn't help myself but chuckle out loud in the quiet library this wednesday evening. Maybe we've been looking at plants all wrong. Maybe Ben and Maren should rethink the whole vegetarian thing. I'll let the orphaned-orange do the emotional persuading.

Salivation Station

My mouth for the duration of this monday has been a Salivation Station. Chocolates and good music are to blame. I'm not in the position to share my chocolate with many of you (and I might not anyway, I have a strange reluctance to share food... I'm trying to overcome it, and my roommate Mike is helping) but I can "share" the tunes that are lulling my stress headache to sleep with you. I discovered these three through a good friend, and a good friend's ipod. The setting was a lazy evening after juggling a soccer ball with Dan and Tim all afternoon. We played Donkey for a while, and I went butts up twice. Luckily Dan and Tim can't shoot worth lentils, and I only got hit once. I was tired and in the mood to vegitate. The idea of frosties came up. I agreed numbly, and after a cold chocolatey sugar rush I couldn't think of anything better than a oober-mellow music party. What resulted were three giants.
"Stars" A band from Canada that's hard to find on the web, and harder to understand why they aren't known around the world.
"Of Montreal" Used to be Ben's favorite band. Figures.
"Radical Face" Some dude from Florida who records his music in a tool shed.
Can't think of anything better than spending time with you all. Tom and Kelsey, I peed my pants a little in excited anticipation of spending a week and a half with you. Good luck on your baptism Kade, I'll be there cheering for you.
What if I titled this "Salvation Station" Would my message need to change to fit that title? I wonder who chose
to name salivation and salvation. Must have been a religious chef.

Mom's Recovering

well, today was the day we were waiting for.
Yesterday Mom took two tiny steps during physical therapy. Today she waltzed (hopped, winced) all the way down the parallel bars (maybe 12 feet).
Yesterday she basically sat or lay in a daze. Today she did a complete crossword puzzle.
Yesterday she was without hearing aid and glasses. Today she had a new battery for the hearing aid and the Shumways brought her a pair of completely mended glasses, courtesy of their optometrist.
Yesterday it took two people to lift her off the bed into the wheelchair to go to dinner. Today a single nurse helped her into the wheelchair.
Yesterday she was too tired to eat dinner in the dining room so she lay in bed and ate almost nothing of her dinner. Today she made it to the dining room for all three meals.
In short, it was a much better day.
If you want to call her, her phone number is 801.357.2673. The last four numbers are her room number.
If you want to visit her, she's in the rehabilitation wing on the south side of the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and the visiting hours are 5‑9 Monday through Saturday and all day on Sunday.

Sea Kittens

Hey click on Sea Kittens to get to PETA's website.
We talked about Sea Kittens in our wildlife class yesterday. The Prof. started out by asking who had seen a sea kitten before. No one raised their hands. Next she asked who had eaten a sea kitten before, no one raised a hand again. She then explained that sea kittens are really just fish, and that mostlikely we had all eaten one before. We then went to the website and made our own sea kitten. His name was "Thunder Paws" and he had a nice moustache and a unicorn horn, with a Mohawk and a dress. I just thought that it was really funny, and an original idea to get the word out about fish.

Ingrid around the house

Yawning!

Looking out the window.

Powder is louder with both of your little brothers

Sam switched today to a yellow coat so you could tell us apart.

So, This semester has been rife with extracurricular backcountry excursions. Sam Tim and I try to get out 2 or 3 times a week. Here are a few clips and pics. We're going tomorrow so I'll bring the camera along to pick up some of Tim's mad tele-turns. Also, Rachel's almost back in commission and we're planning a trip in a few weeks--stay tuned.

Peace
Ben

replies

This is the reply i got from Schmuel,
i thought that everyone would appreciate it

Nate,
This is what I read on your blog post. Because of the settings on the blog and my computer, all I could read on the first screen was this...

"We sat down and watched paycheck last night and I got little rubber"

I know you have a small penis, but don't you think it's a little overboard to announce on the family blog what size of condoms you get?Love you,SAm

Sam,
Just to let you know while you might be the tallest of us Abbott's so far, Tim you still have a chance, Dad did tell me that when you were born that you had the smallest penis of all of us boys, followed closely by Benny, then Joe, then tim then tom and they actually mistook my member for the placenta.

Dad no need to confirm or deny any allegations about the truth of the above statement

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KADON!!!!!!!

Happy B-Riz Birthday
K-Sizlet
Rock the World Buddy

I wanna be like tim and tom

We sat down and watched paycheck last night and I got little rubber bands put in my hair. Fun Fun Fun
