Grandpa Hansens

Grandpa was devastated when he found out that Grandma threw this plate away. She fished it out of the trash, brushed it off, and he happily packed it away in the cupboard. He told me he'd had it for about 4 months and encouraged me to take care of the "expensive" paper plates.

Tim and I drove the dunebuggy with ease. We were defeated by a hill that was totally climbable, but we decided to err on the side of caution and let it take our pride.

Four Square

So I was doing some homework when Nathaniel, my roommate, told me that they posted a sign saying that we couldn't play four square any more, otherwise we would be fined. I was so mad, why would they ban such an innocent game? I think i have seen three other people using the common room while we have. I think something is wrong with our world when we can't even play four square. We are searching for alternative places, and we might get a petition together to try to get four square back. Wish the White Rhino luck. Happy Baby Rachel and Ben, she is the cutest baby in the world!

Thursday Ski

Il le fair du ski?
As we were climbing up Green Canyon on Thursday Ben said that he had a song for us to learn. I can't remember any of it now, but man it was fun. It was a round of 4 or 5 lines in French. The climb was my favorite part of the trip yesterday, it was so relaxed and it was amazing to see Sam leading the pack with his new fattie skins. Ben hung back with me, but I soon acquired just as good skins as Sam thanks to some really sticky snow. We got to the top and Ben realized that we would have to leave immediately in order to get home so Rachel wouldn't think that we got in an avalanche. Ben and Ryan flew down the mountain with ease. Sam and Jake and I followed, but the light was fading quickly. After what felt like the longest/least rewarding downhill experience, I stumbled out of the trees after losing a ski a hat, and a lot of confidence. We had to get out the headlamps to see, and the rest of the way was a wide trail that provided some easy speed. The wind picked up when we had about five minutes before we got to the car. 10 minutes later I slide up to the car and prepare my gear for the car. After thinking about it for a while I realized that it was all worth it. I got to spend 3 hours with Friends and family, and I will hold those memories forever. Thank you Sam and Ben for encouraging me to come and for putting up with my juddy attitude towards the end. Love You!

First Day of Classes

As I got up this morning I thought about how cold it was and how comfortable my bed was. I got up before my alarm went off, and sat there in silence for a minute. I got out just as it went off and stumbled into the bathroom to pee. I got dressed and walked out into the bitter 0 degree weather. I wrapped my scarf a little tighter and stepped out onto the sidewalk only to slip and slide for the first 2 minutes of walking. After I figured out how to walk like a normal person I went to my Math class in the library. As I walked in the warmth was the only thing I was aware of. I walked around for a little bit until I found my class. The Professor seems good, but jokes at 8:30 just arent that funny. After math I went back into the cold, slightly less cold this time, and started toward the education building for my english class. The class lasted about 10 minutes which entailed of the professor introducing herself, giving us the syllabus and telling us we were excused. As i walked toward old main the snow that was now falling coated everything outside, including me. My hair works exactly like a sponge. Walking into my logic class I looked around and couldnt see Sam or Ben. I thought, "I am in the right class??" I asked a student and they said that I was correct, and this was Practical Logic. I still doubted cause how could I be there while neither Sam or Ben were there? I thought they were the good students. I got a call from Sam just as I sat down. He was looking for the class. Ben arrived shortly after. It was a great class and I am excited for a new beggining. I am off to Table Tennis right now, but I hope everyone is having as good a day as I am. Love You Guys!!!
