Lyn's birthday pictures

Maren, thanks for the wonderful happy birthday for Lyn. We're just back from a birthday trip to the Nevada mountains -- the range just east of Ely, where these pictures were taken yesterday, and the Mt. Moriah Wilderness one range farther to the east where we hiked today. Who loves the snow more than Blue? Maybe only Lyn.

Biking for my Birthday

For part of my birthday we went on a little bike ride with Simon in our trailer. the day was one of the brightest since the winter had begun five months earlier and all three of us were feeling excited to be out. Another part of my present was a book with different bike trails through out western pennsylvania. Simon enjoyed the first half of the ride and slept through the second half. It's amazing what a little sun and fresh air can do for your attitude and outlook on life. Thank you all for the many adventures that we have had together from skiing to tube tube tubeing down the provo. Love you guys and thank you for all the birthday calls and presents.

Dog Mushing With Eleanor

Last Saturday Rachel and I went dog sledding with Rachel's friend Eleanor. She raises sled dogs 45 minutes out of Fairbanks in Saltcha.

This is the sled we took.

Here's the snow hook they use to slow the sled down.

Family Reunion in July: Echo Basin Dude Ranch

Is that Jeff on the Horse?
Information from Carol:

Hi everyone,
Mom and I have booked our family reunion and put down money to rent 3 deluxe cabins at Echo Basin, located between Mancos and Durango, Colorado. Our reunion will be from Wednesday July 23 through Saturday July 26. We hope you will put these dates on your calendar and see us there in July. Call or write to me if you have questions or concerns.
Echo Basin Dude Ranch has been around for a while and is rustic to say the least. Updates have been on-going, and I think this will be perfect for us.
Here is a website about Echo Basin and the surrounding attractions we might enjoy.
