Well Ben, have you noticed that you're gradually aging? The newest studies confirm that almost everyone and indeed perhaps everyone is aging. If later studies bear this out, we'll keep counting birthdays. The big question that remains is whether this is at least in part affected by humans interacting with one another.

This little buck didn't age much past his first birthday. Glad you did! And hope that you have a splendid birthday. If love helps with the process, you'll live to be as old as Methuselah. There's plenty of love coming your way.

As you know, Nate is also Mr. Chinese Immersion Abbott at Cascade. This photo from the school album.

Makes me proud to have another teacher in the family, a line running now from my dad and my mom to me and Susan and Joe (his Lehi school) and Maren (dance lessons taught in her basement) and Tom (music lessons) and Ben (currently teaching at the U of AK) and Sam (ski school and writing center) and Tim (tour guide extraordinaire).
